The first electric Mercedes will be the EQC, on sale in 2019

Allcamino bodywork, four-wheel drive, 408 hp and 450 km range

Next year the brand of the star will put on sale its first electric car, the EQC, a model that has been tested in the south of Spain during the summer and in northern Europe during the winter.

It will be an allcamino of 4.76 meters in length, with two electric motors that will give 408 HP of power to the four wheels, achieving a great acceleration, like all the electric ones, of 5.1 seconds in reaching 100 km / h from 0 , being its autonomy of 450 kilometers.

The electricity consumption in the mixed cycle is 22.2 kWh / 100 km and zero CO2 emissions. The family of EQ cars will grow until the year 2022 with other new models with electric propulsion by battery. The Smart brand (owned by Daimler) is committed to electric mobility. It is the first automobile brand that has decided to completely replace the internal combustion engine with electric propulsion. Since 2017, Smart circulates exclusively with electric propulsion in the USA, Canada and Norway. Until 2020, the rest of Europe will be added to this list. Soon after, this strategy will be extended to other markets around the world.

To this is added the electrification of modern internal combustion engines through the integration of a 48-volt on-board network under the EQ Boost brand. Depending on the execution of the engine, the integrated starter alternator or the belt-driven starter alternator assume some functions of the hybrid propellers, such as boost or recovery, and allow reaching fuel consumption limits reserved for high-voltage hybrids . It also provides an increase in comfort and performance. Nothing is known about the price, but it could be double the equivalent in diesel.
