Treasury prepares an extraordinary mechanism to return the IRPF for maternity leave
The Tax Agency published by mistake a draft of the form that is still being studied to expedite this process
All the families that have the right to claim IRPF withholdings for maternity benefits since the Supreme Court ruling , may do so more easily than the current ordinary refund. The Tax Agency is already working on the idea of enabling a specific form for these claims to speed up this process.
Thus, before the possible avalanche of requests, from the AEAT confirm that they are studying with technicians and computer the best way to do it. The Agency published this Wednesday morning by mistake a draft of the form, but they say it is not the final and that some points will be improved. In the published draft it said that it would be necessary to indicate the years in which the benefit was received and a bank account number.
Taxpayers who included the maternity benefit in their IPRF declarations for the years 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 (the foregoing have prescribed), are entitled to this refund by the Treasury. According to Gestha calculations, it is more than one million people. In addition, there are claims prior to 2014 that are still in court and that it is not yet known how they will be resolved.
